Arguably one of the most popular young stars in the Philippines, Heart Evangelista (born February 14, 1985) was first discovered by a commercial agent while shopping at the mall with sister Camille. She signed with Star Magic (formerly known as Talent Center) and was paired with John Prats in the show G-Mik. Her relationship with John Prats gained tremendous popularity, and they starred in several movies togetherâ€”Trip, Ang Tanging Ina and My First Romance. They also starred in popular teen-oriented show “Berks.” After which their real and reel life romance fizzled.

Shaina Magdayao

Shaina Magdayao, born November 6, 1989, is the youngest daughter of Enrique and Deanne Magdayao. She has three older sisters (Shiela, Sharon and Sheryl), one of whom is singer-actress Vina Morales (Sharon).

Shaina’s entry into show business began when she was cast, at six years old, in the drama series Lyra, playing the title character. She caught the eye of someone at ABS-CBN and became part of the Star Magic Family at the age of seven. She was included in the cast of the just-revamped AngTV show, Kaybol. She was then brought together, with two other great child actresses of the time Camille Prats and Serena Dalrymple to star in ABS-CBN’s afternoon drama series Marinella, playing the role of Rina.

In 2000, when Shaina was 10 years old, she released a self-titled debut album with Star Records. The carrier single was “Sayaw Sweet Lullabye”. The song’s music video was often played in the afternoons right before Marinella or youth-oriented shows.

Shaina has also played daughter to a very wide-range of celebrity “parents” on the big and small screens. It was a role like this, in 2000 for the Laurice Guillien helmed project Tanging Yaman, that won her a Best Child Actress award from the FAMAS (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards), and Most Popular Child Actress Award from the 2001 Guillermo Mendoza Awards. Since then, Shaina has slowly but surely been building her career over the years. In 2002, she starred in a light weekend afternoon series, called K2BU, where she met half-Brit Bea Alonzo, who is her best friend. She has appeared in several drama series and sitcoms, and at one point, doing three at the same time (Seasons of Love, Bida si Mister Bida si Misis, Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay), while going to regular school. She started to be home-schooled in late 2004, as her schedule got even more hectic, but will be graduating at the same time as Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo.

In 2005, she was included in the cast of the much underrated primetime drama series Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin, along with Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, her best friend Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. It was here that she was paired with actor-dancer Rayver Cruz, who she is currently still being paired with.

She is currently still taping for the Chito Rono and Erik Matti’s newest television series, Rounin, set to air in January or February 2007. She is currently starring in the afternoon light drama Star Magic Presents: All About Your Love along with her loveteam, Rayver Cruz and 17 other young stars under Star Magic. She is also a semi-regular at ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime variety show, ASAP 06. Magdayao is a member of ABS-CBN’s elite circle of homegrown talents properly named Star Magic.

Shaina is a familiar face in advertisements. She started of as a baby model for various baby products. As a child, she was a model for children’s clothing company, Garfield as well as appearing in a slew of television commercials for Magnolia Chocolait, Lemon Squares Products and Goldilocks, among others. She was also one of the youngest models ever for Ben Chan’s clothing company Bench, moving up the ranks from modelling Bench products for children, to her current HerBench endorsements. Bea Alonzo

Bea Alonzo (Real name: Phylbert Angellie Ranollo Fagestrom), born Oct. 17, 1987, had always dreamed of being in show business. Growing up without a father since the age of four, Bea has nonetheless managed to strike it out on her own.

She joined beauty contests at a very young age and she was moderately successful in this endeavor. It was in a small town beauty contest that she was discovered by famed Filipino fashion designer Oscar Peralta who then brought her to the attention of talent manager Archie Ilagan. The latter presented Bea to the head of the ABS-CBN Talent Center Johnny Manahan who inducted her into the Star Circle Batch 10. There she would be given a wide-range of acting lessons which later helped her land a part in the teen-oriented drama/comedy K2BU.

In 2003, at the age of 15, Bea would be cast as 20 year old lawyer Katrina Argos in the TV drama Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. The role would garner her her first “Best Actress” nomination at the 2003 PMPC Star Awards.

The role of Katrina Argos would also pair Bea with John Lloyd Cruz who played Yuri Orbida in the drama series. John Lloyd would eventually be Bea’s long-time on-screen romantic partner and the Bea Alonzo-John Lloyd Cruz tandem proved to be quite popular that it was featured in three more TV drama series: It Might Be You, Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin and currently Maging Sino Ka Man. The pair would also star in movies such as My First Romace (where Bea Alonzo was named “Best New Movie Actress” at the 2004 PMPC Star Awards), Now That I Have You, Close To You and the recent All About Love.

After All About Love, Bea’s next movie project is a remake of the classic Dolphy movie Pacifica Falapay. The movie co-stars Vhong Navarro and it will be Bea’s first foray into big-screen feature-length comedies.

Although Bea has been paired with John Lloyd Cruz for several years, she claims that there has been no real romantic involvement between them.

She is currently linked to Filipino actor Mico Palanca, younger brother of Bernard Palanca, who is also an actor. The two have confirmed that they are actually dating each other.

Jennylyn Mercado (born May 15, 1987) is the ultimate female survivor in GMA 7’s first season of Starstruck talent search. Since winning Starstruck, Jennylyn became one of GMA’s hottest contract stars.

In the October 14, 2004 episode of TV drama series Magpakailanman of GMA Network, which featured her life story, viewers learned more about Jennylyn’s childhood.

In May 4, 1991, when she was nearly four years old, Jennylyn made headlines as a battered child.

Her assailant was her stepfather. He burned Jennylyn’s young skin with cigarette butts and whacked her back with a flat iron. Her mother, who was then in Dubai working as a domestic helper, immediately came home. Sadly, though, she came not to take care of her daughter but to bail out her cruel partner, who was in detention.

Her mother migrated to London and had her own family. Because of this, Jennylyn’s aunt, Lydia Mercado, legally adopted her.

In June 2004, Jennylyn’s biological father, Noli Pineda, now 50 came home for a holiday. His arrival did not go unnoticed by the press. Reports came out saying that he was asking for money from his now self-sufficient daughter. This, Jennylyn strongly denied. What her father wanted, she said, was for Jennylyn to use his surname.

Still, according to Jen, she and her biological father keep in touch, even if they don’t get to see each other often, since he’s based in Korea.

Because of her experience as an abused child, she is now the Official Spokesperson of the Bata Foundation (Christian Mission Services), a non-government organization that operates with basic funding support from its partner organization Christlicher Missiondienst (CMD) headquartered in Germany, supplementary assistance from two Japanese organizations and a few local groups, with the help of Feed Hungry Inc. and the GMA Artist Center.

Before joining showbizness, Jennylyn was a senior student at the Augustinian Abbey in Las PiÃ±as where she actively took part in school programs.

She became the girlfriend of co-StarStruck survivor Mark Herras but their relationship has now ended. Although the pair may have declared that they have split up, their on-screen team-up bears no signs of breaking down.

Jennylyn was being wooed by numerous men (like actor Jake Cuenca who gave her a dog - Migs - while working with her in the 9th season of Love to Love entitled Miss Match. But all were just rumors.There were also hints that Jennylyn and Mark got back together again but there had also been rumors that she and her former non-showbiz boyfriend, Jigs Cristobal were back together, too. Toni Gonzaga was born in January 21, 1984. She got her first big break as a fan of Piolo Pascual in a softdrink commercial, at the age of 17 years old. Congratulatory messages from Philippine leaders, with President Arroyo leading the pack, poured in for Manny Pacquiao who scored another sensational boxing win on Sunday.

The country's chief executive, who left for Egypt Saturday for a working visit, was ecstatic over the victory of Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao in Las Vegas, a Malacañang official said Sunday.

Pacquiao claimed the IBO/The Ring Magazine junior welterweight title with a stunning second round knockout of Britain's Ricky Hatton.

The 30-year-old southpaw twice knocked the Englishman to the canvass in the opening round before ending the fight with a stinging left hook two minutes and 59 seconds into the second round.

“President Arroyo is very happy. While we were not able to watch the fight because we are on our working visit, news of Pacquiao’s victory was greeted by the [Philippine] delegation with great jubilation,” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde told radio dzMM.

On Saturday Mrs. Arroyo and her delegation left for Cairo for a working visit to Egypt and scheduled state visit in Syria.

Remonde said Pacuiao’s victory was relayed to the Philippine delegation in Egypt by Quezon 3rd district Rep. Danilo Suarez.

Remonde, who is also acting executive secretary, added that Mrs. Arroyo “is joining the entire nation in thanking God and in jubilation over this spectacular victory of Manny Pacquiao.”

“May his victory inspire all Filipinos to triumph against all odds,” Remonde said. “May his example of continuing to learn and improve be emulated by our people especially the young,” he added in a text message.

Remonde said “The People’s Champ” will be received by the President in Malacañang and given a hero’s welcome when he comes home.

Deputy palace spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo, meantime, said in a text message, that “President Arroyo and the whole nation join the whole world in celebrating the victory of Manny Pacquiao.”

“His courage, dignity and love of God and country exemplifies the Filipino spirit of sportsmanship and his resiliency in pursuing his dreams of bringing honor to our country,” noted Fajardo.

Showcases Pinoy’s excellence

Vice President Noli de Castro also congratulated the Filipino boxing icon.

“Manny exceeded our expectations with his exceptional boxing skills, speed and strength. His victory is the victory of every Filipino. I personally commend Manny Pacquiao for continuing to showcase Filipino's excellence to the world,” he said in a text message.

He added: “He is truly an inspiration to Filipinos who strive in the face of their daily challenges.”

“Living legend”

House Speaker Prospero Nograles on Sunday also praised Philippine boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao.

Nograles, who flew with other congressmen to the US to watch the fight, said Pacquiao's victory silenced Hatton's boisterous British fans who came in droves to watch the fight.

“The British flew here with so much band and noise and songs and cheers, all sound and fury signifying nothing. But after two minutes, they were shocked with the speed and power [of Pacquiao]. Mismatch really. Pacman from Mindanao is now a legend in his time. What else can the world say?" Nograles told reporters through a text message.

Former president Joseph Estrada, for his part, also said that Pacquiao is “truly a living legend.”

“He is truly an inspiration to Filipinos everywhere, showing that through discipline and faith, great things are possible; a living legend who has brought the nation together in this moment of glory for the Filipino people,” Estrada said in a statement.

Several senators also congratulated the world’s pound-for-pound boxing king.

“Manny Pacquiao has given notice to the world of the prowess and fighting spirit of the Filipino. He has single-handedly raised the prestige of the Filipinos as courageous, disciplined and patriotic. Just like our Overseas Filipino Workers, Pacquiao deserved the title of ‘hero,’” said Sen. Loren Legarda in a faxed statement.

“His triumph is shared by the entire Filipino people to whom he had dedicated his record-breaking fight. But it is as much as an individual triumph arising from him indubitable courage, his solid self-discipline and his single-minded determination win,” she added.

Discipline and humility

Another lady senator, Pia Cayetano, noted that “Pacquiao personifies triumph of the human spirit.”

Cayetano added, “As an athlete, I myself am awed by his discipline, respect for his coach, humility even in times of great victory, and love for God and country.”

She noted, “From his humble beginnings as a bakeshop and fish-port worker in General Santos City and as a struggling young boxer who fought on weekends just to buy food for his family, Manny worked his way up to become world champion in six different weight classes, joining the ranks of boxing legends, and with this latest conquest, the pound-for-pound king of his generation.”

Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said that Manny “showed the world how Filipinos can be the best.”

“Patunay si Manny na kaya nating mga Pilipino na maging pinakamahusay sa mundo,” he said in a statement.

“Muling ipinakita ni Manny kung ano ang tunay na kakayahan ng Pilipino kapag naghanda, nagmatyag, at nagpursigi sa isang layunin,” noted Pangilian.

Gordon, who is also Philippine National Red Cross chairman, in a statement also said, “With his newest victory, Manny is indeed the undisputed champion of all time not only inside the boxing ring but also in the heart of every Filipino.”

Meanwhile, Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) chairman Manny V. Pangilinan echoed what the political leaders said of Pacquiao.

“Manny Pacquiao’s stunning victory over such a formidable opponent has made all Filipinos prouder as a nation,” he said in a statement.

“With his shining example, our faith in God and a lot of hard work, I am hopeful we will finally win our Olympic Gold,” he concluded.President Arroyo was ecstatic over the victory of Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao in Las Vegas, a Malacañang official said Sunday.

Pacquiao claimed the IBO light-welterweight title with a stunning second round knockout of Britain's Ricky Hatton.

The 30-year-old southpaw twice knocked the Englishman to the canvas in the opening round before ending the fight with a stinging left hook two minutes and 39 seconds into the second round.

“President Arroyo is very happy. While we were not able to watch the fight because we are on our working visit, news of Pacquiao’s victory was greeted by the [Philippine] delegation with great jubilation,” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde told radio dzMM.

On Saturday Mrs. Arroyo and her delegation left for Cairo for a working visit to Egypt and scheduled state visit in Syria.

Remonde said Pacman’s victory was relayed to the Philippine delegation by Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez.

Remonde, who is a concurrent acting executive secretary, added that Mrs. Arroyo “is joining the entire nation in thanking God and in jubilation over this spectacular victory of Manny Pacquiao.”

“May his victory inspire all Filipinos to triumph against all odds and may his example continue [to] be emulated by our people especially the young,” Remonde said.

Remonde said Pacquiao will be received by the President in Malacañang and given a hero’s welcome when he comes home.

Vice President Noli de Castro also congratulated the Filipino boxing icon.

“Manny exceeded our expectations with his exceptional boxing skills, speed and strength. His victory is the victory of every Filipino. I personally commend Manny Pacquiao for continuing to showcase Filipino's excellence to the world,” he said in a text message.

He added: “He is truly an inspiration to Filipinos who strive in the face of their daily challenges.”

The husband of American singer Leah Dizon, 22, who had surprisingly announced their marriage on Tuesday night at her concert, has declined to comment, several tabloid media reported on Friday.
The husband’s name is Bun, and he is a 29-year-old Japanese stylist who has worked for celebrities, such as singer BoA, and fashion shows nationwide. Sources close to him say Bun is 170 cm tall, thin, and Johnny Depp-like in appearance, according to media reports. Bun, however, declined to answer any questions from reporters, saying, “I’m not a person who is supposed to appear in the media. I’m sorry.”
At her press conference on Wednesday, Dizon was asked what Bun liked most about her. “Big peach,” she answered, referring to her bottom.

American singer Leah Dizon, 22, on Wednesday afternoon held a press conference in Aoyama to talk about her marriage and pregnancy which she announced at the last concert of her nationwide tour in Shibuya on Tuesday night.

Dizon dropped a bombshell when she told concertgoers that she was four months pregnant and that she had married a Japanese stylist in his 20s. She told 1,000 fans the wedding had been held last Friday at a hotel in Shinjuku. Insiders say the two had a Japanese-style wedding ceremony at the Hilton hotel.

Tuesday’s concert was the last one of a nationwide tour. Dizon said, “I have important news to tell you. I have actually got married.” Then she added: “I’m pregnant, too. My family and I are very happy.” She said she will take a break from showbiz until after her baby is born, but promised fans she will be back.

Dizon told reporters at Wednesday’s press conference that her husband is a 29-year old “smart guy” whom she met in January. She said they had gone to hot springs and ramenrestaurants together. She also showed a photo of herself in a traditional Japanese wedding dress.
Dizon’s agent didn’t allow reporters to ask her questions because “she is tired of being chased by paparazzi for three hours by car last night after the concert,” he said.

In 1996, she again got cast by Rodriguez in From Dusk Till Dawn where she shared the screen space with the likes of George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino. She followed this successful streak with Fools Rush In (1997) opposite "Friends” actor Matthew Perry.

The coming years saw her working in some of the most credible performances on her account. Breaking Up (1997), In the Time of the Butterflies (2001) (TV),which even won Hayek an ALMA award as best actress; and the 1999 summer blockbuster Wild Wild West (1999).

It was during this time, that the actress decided to bring on screen her childhood dream of playing Frida Kahlo, the legendary Mexican painter. She co produced the movie in 2002. The movie was much appreciated with terrific performances from Salma and Alfred Molina as Kahlo's cheating husband "Diego Rivera". On the side was an entourage of stars including Antonio Banderas, Ashley Judd, Geoffrey Rush, Edward Norton and Valeria Golino. It also brought her six nominations including the best actress and won two academy awards in best makeup and best original score.

When Hayek was upon asked to direct a movie wielded the microphone for Showtime called 'The Maldonado Miracle’ (2003), which was showcased at the Sundance Film festival, the world rose to the seriousness of her craft with which she performs.

The dishy actress, who was ruling the charts during the whole of 90s, has always displayed her intelligence and knack of going the other way from the crowd. And this can be cited as the reason for her tremendous success and popularity among the movie goers.

Sharon Vonne Stone, born March 10, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania was the second of four children; of Dorothy an accountant and homemaker, and Joseph Stone, a tool and die manufacturer. When she was only 15 and studying in Saegertown High School, Pennsylvania and, she entered Edinboro State University of Pennsylvania, and graduated with a degree in creative writing and fine arts.

She was considered rather a smart kid, given her high IQ level and often asked to pursue a career in law. But the lure of movies got the better of her and she decided to walk on the uneven but yet interesting trail of movie Dom.

Career in Movies

In 1975, Stone entered and won the title of Miss Crawford County in Meadville. Later she shifted base to New Jersey in 1977 to live with an aunt, upon listening to the suggestion of one of the pageant judges that she should join modeling. She was soon signed by Ford Modeling Agency and appeared in TV commercials for Burger King, Clairol and Maybelline.

But it was while seeking more creative satisfaction that she landed up with her first movie appearance in 1980, in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980). Later followed more tits and bits parts in movies like Wes Craven's horror movie, Deadly Blessing (1981), Action Jackson (1988), King Solomon's Mines (1985) etc. her moment of glory came when starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall (1990). This was also the time when she posed nude for the Playboy magazine.

But the major breakthrough that oscillated her to the topmost heights of Hollywood came when she signed up for bisexual serial killer in Basic Instinct (1992) opposite Michael Douglas. The movie made her a femme fatale among the masses and she automatically joined the creamy layer of movie industry. The controversial scene in the movie that became unwanted case of nudity on Sharon’s part alas! became a part of history. The fiery actress till date claims ignorance about the deal.

A series of movies followed where time and again she proved her mettle in roles essayed by her. In fact, she even won a Golden Globe Award in 1996 for Best Actress in a Dramatic Motion Picture for her role as "Ginger" in Martin Scorsese's Casino opposite Robert DeNiro. The actress also earned herself a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995.

She also did a guest appearance in the popular law series The Practice and even won an Emmy award in 2003 for it.

Her second innings at box office didn’t set the cash registers jingling exactly. Her two major movies Catwoman (2004) and Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction 2006 bombed at the box office.

The actress is a firm believer n Buddhism which she recently started practicing after a brief link with scientology. She was earlier married to Michael Greenburg in 1984, but got divorced after just two years. She again married in February 14, 1998, Phil Bronstein and again got a divorce. She has adopted three kids so far, being Roan Joseph Bronstein Laird Vonne Ston and, Quinn Kelly.

Since then Sharon has been rumored to have bisexual inclinations. The actress, with the way things are going will surely deliver one more performance to top her already filled up good acting books.

Demi Moore is a well known name in the Hollywood circle. The actress has been one of the leading ladies in the 80s era. Still recognizable for her legendary movie Ghost (1990) and recently for her marriage to actor Ashton Kutcher who is15 years her junior, this star diva still continues to breath poise, charm and grace.

Born as Demetria Gene Guynes in Roswell, New Mexico, to Charles Harmon, left her mother, Virginia King. She never got to spent time with her father as he had already left her wife even before Demi was born. She spent much of her childhood years in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, a small town south of Pittsburgh. Moore had the surname of her stepfather, Danny Guynes, on her birth certificate who committed suicide in 1980. Moore's parents were also alcoholics and often abused each other. Moore used to wear an eye patch in an attempt to correct the problem of cross eyed until it was eventually corrected by two surgeries. During this time, she also suffered from kidney dysfunction.

The family after much moving due to Guynes frequently changing jobs finally settled in Los Angels in 1976. Here, Moore attended Hollywood's Fairfax High School, from where she later dropped out at the age of 16 in order to pursue a career in acting.

Career in Movies
She soon found work with European photographers and became a pin up girl. In addition, she also worked at a collection agency. In the early 1980s, she did a series of photo shoots fully nude for Christopher Marrin. Demi debuted in movies with 1982 release3-D science fiction/horror film, Parasite, which was a hit on the drive-in circuit. The part that brought her recognition was that of Jackie Templeton on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital, from 1982-1983. She also did a cameo in the spoof Young Doctors in Love (1982).

Mid 80s earned her the title of as one of the Brat packs with her choice of youth oriented, teeny boppers’ movies like St. Elmo's Fire (1985), About Last Night etc.

The couple got divorced after just 5 years and she again got involved with actor Bruce Willis and married him in 1987. They have three daughters together, Rumer Willis (b. 1988), Scout LaRue Willis (b. 1991) and Tallulah Belle Willis (b. 1994). They separated in 1998 and are still on cordial terms. Incidentally, when she was 7 month pregnant with her second child she posed nude for the cove of Vanity Fair, which provoked much controversy among the masses.

Drew Blyth Barrymore came into this world on February 22, 1975 in Barrymore was born in Culver City, California, to American actor John Drew Barrymore and Ildiko Jaid Barrymore, who was an aspiring actress. Her parents divorced after she was born. She has a half-brother John Blyth Barrymore, also an actor, and two half-sisters, Blyth Dolores Barrymore and Brahma (Jessica) Blyth Barrymore.

Biography
Elizabeth Hurley is a well established name in the Briton modeling circle and movies. She came into the public eye only when her much publicized affair with actor Hugh Grant was made known. How she initially found her bearings, well that is another story.
Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born on June 10, 1965 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, as the second daughter of Angela and Reg Hurley. Her father was a major in the British Army, while her mother was a schoolteacher at Kempshott Infant School. Her older sister Debbie is a literary agent and younger brother Michael works as an engineer.
Hurley took ballet classes as a child. She attended a variety of schools as a child including the Kempshott Junior School and Infants school and the Harriet Costello School, now known as Costello Technology College. She went on to graduate from Queen Mary's College, Basingstoke, for one year, followed by Basingstoke College of Technology, and later won a modeling scholarship to the London Studio Centre.
As a child she was into ballet and even took lessons for that, but while growing up she turned towards punk fashion with pink dyed hair and started moving in new age travelers groups.

Career in Movies
Upon winning the title of Face of the year in a local newspaper of Winchester, Hurley was awarded with a one year modeling contract with a renowned London modeling agency. With her training and experience gained while working at the London studio centre, Elizabeth successfully made her debut in Aria (1987). She also caught attention with her 4 part tele series Christabel (1988), written by Dennis Potter, where she played the title character.

Several movies and television shows followed after that including British series Rumpole of the Bailey and the George Lucas-produced The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and the Remando al viento (1987) with young actor (and future beau) Hugh Grant. It was while filming for this movie that the couple fell in love and began a 13 year old relationship.

The love birds came again in 1994, in Four Weddings and a Funeral which proved to be an international box office success and Grant was the focus of much media attention. Hurley ‘s black plunging Versace dress held together with gold safety pins at the movie premiere became so famous that even after so many years, it is referred to as “that dress”.
They later found and directed UK-based production company, Simian Films Ltd, in 1994, and Hurley was appointed as the head of development to secure film projects for Hugh. She served as producer for two Grant vehicles, Extreme Measures (1996) and Mickey Blue Eyes (1999). But the company was later closed down due to lack of interest on Grant’s part in 2002.
Elizabeth’s name was associated with several other film projects too. Some of them were notable for her roles such as Vanessa Kensington in Mike Myers's hit spy comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), EdTV, Bedazzled, Double Whammy, Serving Sara (2002).

The year 2008 also saw Hurley being approached by the top cosmetics company Estée Lauder as their main spokes model for the 14th time consecutively since 1995. Jennifer Aniston came into this world on February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California, and grew up in New York City. She inherited the gene of acting from her father John Aniston and mother Nancy Dow, both belonging to the school of acting. Aniston has two half-brothers, John Melick (older) and Alex Aniston (younger). The family lived for a year in Greece and later relocated to New York. Her parents separated when she was just nine years old.

Television stars striking it big in Hollywood stories have now found another name to add to their list with the strong willed yet demure looking Katie Holmes. Born on December 18, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio as the youngest child of Martin Holmes, lawyer by profession and Homemaker mother Kathleen, she was named Kate Noelle Holmes. Madonna was born Madonna Louise Ciccone on born August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan to Madonna Louise who was of French-Canadian descent and Silvio "Tony" P. Ciccone who was a first-generation Italian-American working as Chrysler/General Motors design engineer. She was the third among her six siblings. Her mother died of breast cancer when Madonna was 5 years old. Her father later remarried their housemaid, and had two children, Jennifer and Mario. She did her schooling from St. Frederick's Elementary School, St. Andrew's Elementary School (present day Holy Family Regional) and West Middle School and Rochester Adams High School where she was famous for her straight- A streak with a contrasting interest in cheerleading. Madonna received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan after graduating from high school.

But destiny had something else in mind for her. Upon persuasion by a teacher that Madonna should try her luck in New York, she shifted base. Madonna debuted with hit single “Everybody" in 1982, after signing a deal with Sire Records, a new wave label belonging to Warner Bros. Records. Her debut album, Madonna, a collection of dance songs, was primarily produced by Reggie Lucas, who had also produced for several R&B singers including Stephanie Mills. But she wasn’t satisfied with the finished product and sought the help of her then boyfriend John "Jellybean" Benitez, who remixed the album for her adding one more song, to it. The album became an instant hit.

On the flip side, Madonna’s wardrobe was becoming a style statement being copied by young girls worldwide. Her next album, Like a Virgin, topped the Billboard charts with the single of the same name becoming number one everywhere.

1985 saw her entering mainstream movies with appearances in movies like Vision Quest and Desperately Seeking Susan both of which included hit numbers from her previous albums such as "Crazy for You”, "Into the Groove” respectively. The year also brought her the chance of her very first concert tour in the U.S. titled The Virgin Tour, with The Beastie Boys. Madonna's studio album Like a Virgin (1984) was listed by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the Definitive 200 Albums of All Time. She was also engulfed in a controversy regarding Penthouse and Playboy publishing her nude photos taken in 1970s.

True blue, Madonna’s 1986 released album contained "Live to Tell” (featured in movie, At Close Range), “Open Your Heart”. Incidentally, this album also credited her with the bill of producer and her creativity through art direction and cinematography. Madonna starred in Who's That Girl, and contributed four songs to its soundtrack, including the film's title track. She later divulged on the Who's That Girl World Tour, which was the highest grossing concert tour of that time. Later that year, she released a remixed album of her old songs featuring just one new one titled, You Can Dance.

Madonna's fourth album, Like a Prayer, released in 1989, was co-written and co-produced with Patrick Leonard and Stephen Bray where she collaborated with Prince on a duet. The album was rated as “her best and most consistent” by All Music Guide. Her knack for running into controversy didn’t leave her here also. A commercial shoot for Pepsi with the same song video as of that for “Like a Prayer” went haywire with the video feigning the sentiments of many hurt Catholics.

By 1990, she was ready to star as Breathless Mahoney in a film adaptation of the comic book series Dick Tracy for which promotion she released her next album, I'm Breathless that included Academy Award-winning song "Sooner or Later”. The album became a success with selling over 7 million copies worldwide. It was followed by Blond Ambition World Tour, which again brought her into the heart of controversy regarding her overtly sexual image.

In the November of same year, Madonna came out with first greatest hits compilation album, The Immaculate Collection, which included two new songs: “Justify My Love” and “Rescue Me.” In fact the latter became the highest-debuting single by a female artist in U.S. chart history. Her first documentary movie, Truth or Dare which chronicled her successful 1990 Blond Ambition Tour, as well as her personal life came out in 1991 followed closely by A League of Their Own, a movie for which she recorded the hit theme song, "This Used to Be My Playground”.

Soon by 1992, she found her own entertainment company in a joint venture with Time Warner called Maverick, consisting of a record company; Maverick Records, a film production company; Maverick Films and also music publishing, television, merchandising and book-publishing divisions. Their first venture was a book titled SEX, consisting of sexually provocative and explicit images photographed by Steven Meisel which caused a huge controversy but became a hit nonetheless. Side by side she released her fifth album, Erotica, featuring three sexual songs — "Erotica", "Where Life Begins", and "Did You Do It?” cashing in on the SEX controversy. The album as expected became one of the greatest hits with entering Hot 100 Airplay chart at #2.

In 1993, she starred in two movies, Body of Evidence and Dangerous Game, the first production of Maverick films. At the end of the year she embarked on her The Girlie Show World Tour. Her second publication, The Girlie Show came out with home music video, The Girlie Show - Live Down Under in 1994.

Her sixth studio album Bedtime Stories also released in 1994 was more of R&B-flavored sound and brought her the Grammy Award nomination in the Best Pop Vocal Album category. In fact, her hit single, “Take a Bow" was a success on the Billboard Hot 100, staying #1 for seven consecutive weeks, becoming one of her biggest hits in the United States.

In 1995, she released Something to Remember, a collection of her best ballads with three new tracks. The album peaked at #6 on the U.S. charts. She also did cameos in movies like Four Rooms and comedy Blue In The Face. But the most rewarding moment of life came in the form of Evita (1996), a highly acclaimed movie by critics where she played the title role with an ease and won Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. The movie’s soundtrack featuring the song “You Must Love Me” won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song from a Motion Picture.

Two years later she released her new studio album titled Ray of Light that debuted at #2 on the U.S. albums chart. It was well received by industry people as well as music lovers. Barring a controversy regarding “Frozen" song which was adjudicated to be a plagiarism of Belgian songwriter Salvatore Acquaviva's 1993 song "Ma Vie Fout L'camp”, the album managed to win three Grammy awards in 1999. The same year she recorded for the hit movie Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

In 2001, she starred in a music video "What It Feels Like for a Girl” and an internet commercial, Star, for car manufacturer BMW, both of whom were directed by her then husband Guy Ritchie. Later in 2002, she worked again in her husband directed Swept Away which bombed at the box office. Her promotional song for the bond movie, ‘Die Another Day’, was nominated for a Golden Globe for the best original score. Incidentally, she had a cameo too in the movie.

Her ninth album i.e. American Life, released in 2003 earned mixed reviews making her the lowest selling album of her entire career. Later that year, Madonna performed the song "Hollywood" with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott at the MTV Video Music Awards whereupon kissing Spears and Aguilera spurred major controversy.

In 2003, Madonna compiled the remixed EP called Remixed & Revisited. She separated ways with the Warner bros, over bookkeeping methods but still continued working with them under separate contract. With Re-Invention World Tour in the U.S., Canada, and Europe becoming a huge success, she released a documentary about it named I'm Going to Tell You a Secret. 2005, saw her performing at various fund raising concerts including the "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope”.

Her tenth studio album, the Grammy-winning Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005) sold more than 8 million copies and presented a continuous mix of dance songs, with musical elements borrowed from the '70s, and current dance music. In the middle of the year, her hold over the masses again came out in the form of a clothing line dedicated top her being M by Madonna. The same year she successfully completed her Confessions tour which again involved the bible crucifix controversy.

On May 16, 2007, Madonna released the download-only song "Hey You", in anticipation of the coming Live Earth, which was free for its first week. Madonna performed "Hey You" amongst other songs at the London concert of Live Earth at Wembley Stadium on July 7.

She also ventured into directed with Filth and Wisdom and helped producing I Am Because We Are, a documentary on the problems and difficulties faced by people in Malawi which was premiered at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival. 2008 also became the year for her eleventh studio album, Hard Candy which just released in April and contains collaborations with Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Danja.

Marking her seventh world tour, Madonna, on August 20, 2008, will begin the Sticky & Sweet Tour in Zurich, Switzerland at the Dubenhof Festival Site.

After a brief stint of failed marriages and relationships including one with Tony Ward, a young bisexual model and porn star who starred in her music videos for "Cherish" (1989) and "Justify My Love" (1990), she is currently married to Guy Ritchie ( December 22, 2000) with three children. She adopted David Banda (renamed David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie) when she flew to Malawi to help build an orphanage. This brought her again under the public eye, with comments on special treatment being given to Madonna during adoption process because of her celebrity status. A disciple at Kabaalah Centre, she has always been the paparaazi’s favorite child, all credit to her flamboyant and rebellious attitude. Nonetheless, maybe this is the reason she has been ruling the charts for so long now and is adored by ardent fans worldwide.

It is not always true that good things come only in small packages. You can locate one in a taller packing too. A living example of this is Nicole Kidman, who standing at 5’11’’ feet have towered over the legends sitting atop the Hollywood high pedestal. This Australian house of fire has formed her own niche over the years in the American dominated film domain.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii (on the 20th of June, 1967), Nicole boasts of dual US and Australian citizenship. Her father, Anthony, a biochemist and clinical psychologist, along with his wife Janelle and Nicole’s young sister Antonia to work on a research project on breast cancer moved to Washington DC for three years.

She started taking u ballet lessons at 10 and fell in love with it but later included mime and drama as well in creative portfolio. Her first stage role was a bleating sheep in an elementary school Christmas pageant. in her growing up years, while her peers were busy frolicking out in the sun, Nicole was often to be seen immersed deeply in her craft and was a regular at Philip Street Theater, it was while working there only, at the mere age of 14, she received an invitation to star in a film student’s exam project. The student’s name was Jane Campion, who later directed Kidman in The Portrait Of A Lady (1996)

Nicole soon realized that the regular education was neither going to help her out in her dream career in movies nor it would give her the satisfaction. She soon dropped out of high school and joined the Australian Theatre for Young People in Sydney and the St Martin's Youth Theatre in Melbourne .By the time she was 16, she has decided to tread upon the waters of movie making.

Her film debut was with an Australian holiday favorite Bush Christmas (1983). This was followed by a series of film and TV offers, including a lead in BMX Bandits (1983) and “Vietnam" (1987) where she played a schoolgirl-turned-protester in the miniseries for which she won her first Australian Film Institute Award.

Two years later, she eventually made her US debut opposite Sam Neill in the at-sea thriller Dead Calm (1989). And then came an offer which turned her life both professionally and personally tremendously. While playing Tom Cruise’s love interest in the racetrack romance Days of Thunder (1990), Nicole found the herself essaying the role in real life as well. After a whirlwind courtship and wedding (December 24, 1990), the couple worked in two more movies, Far and Away (1992) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999) after that to cash on their much talked about married life.

She and Cruise adopted two children: Isabella Jane (born in 1993) and Connor Antony (born 1995). The couple ended their marriage in 2001, despite boasting of a happy family image in the public eye.

Not to be marred by the debacle of failed marriage on her movie career, Nicole came out triumphant with Moulin Rouge which earned her the Oscar nomination but something was still missing that could help her outshine over the academy. Incidentally, the same thing happened in her career earlier when freshly after her marriage Kidman until she achieved real breakthrough with Gus Van Sant's To Die For (1995) as a fame-crazed housewife and Henry James's The Portrait of a Lady (1996).the former one her many critics awards and the acclaimed Golden Globe award.

She bounced back with The Hours (2002) and managed to stand her own against the likes of Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore. Portraying the roles of the famed writer Virginia Woolf herself, Nicole even surgically disfigured her nose for the role. The movie won critics appreciation and Nicole an Oscar and Golden Globe. In addition, she was also the part of prestigious Cold Mountain ( 2003),a path breaking movie

It would not have been wrong to say that Pamela Anderson has to be one of the top ten controversial celebrities of this century. Since her entrance as the playful, sexy bombshell C.J. parker, one of the lifeguards on the popular television series ‘Baywatch’, Anderson and limelight have went hand in hand.

Fame and scoops have been a part of Pamela’s life since childhood. In fact, the day she was born i.e. on July 1, 1967 in Ladysmith, British Columbia in Canada at 4:08 PST, it was to be Canada's 100th Birthday. Besides earning her the title "The Centennial Baby” the Anderson's received cash prizes and awards for having the first baby.

She later, moved to the city of Vancouver with her parents, Barry Anderson, furnace repairman and Carol Anderson, a waitress. Pamela attended the Highland Secondary School, where she excelled in nearly every sport, specifically volleyball. She was as her parents and teachers recall very determined to be at the top at everything she does. In fact, her yearbook entry at the time of her graduation from high school in 1985 read that she wanted to be a “California Beach Bum".

Career in Movies

Soon after that in 1988 she shifted base to Vancouver and started working as a fitness instructor. It was during this time only when her life took a sharp U –turn. Upon visiting a British Columbia Lions football game wearing a Labatt’s t-shirt, her visual was captured and shown on screen which was widely appreciated by the crowd. She was signed to a commercial contract with Labatt's beer breweries and became the company's "Blue Zone" girl. A plethora of commercials and advertisements followed after that and Pamela announced her arrival with a bang.

Seeing the success and popularity garnered by Pamela in such a short span of time, Playboy magazine approached her for their cover page of the October 1989 issue. She later appeared five times on their magazine cover, making her the record holder in this genre. This trickled down into her landing roles on television shows like Fox's "Married with Children" and in 1991 she got to play "Lisa", the "Tool-Time-Girl" on ABC Television's "Home Improvement”. With the success of this show, Anderson became a household name and was later spotted by David Hasslehoff, who was then casting for his series, “Baywatch” (1989)

The show ran for many years successfully and gave Pamela the much needed fame and attention. She made her movie debut Raw Justice in 1994. In addition, Anderson was featured in the CBS movie-of-the-week, Come Die with Me: A Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer Mystery (1994) (TV). She also starred in Barb Wire (1996) and turned her wheels towards television again in 1998 with the series “V.IP.” Pamela also has a cartoon series dedicated to herself. By the fall of 2003 the new network Spike TV launched her latest action series, a cartoon developed by Stan Lee called "Stripperella" (2003). Another serial, this time a sitcom came her way in 2005 being ”Stacked”.

The curvaceous actress who is well known for her eyebrow raising breast implants married Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in February 1995 and have two kids with him, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee. She later got divorce with her husband in 1998 upon the charges of physical assault but got back with him after 5 years when she was detected with virus hepatitis c.

All one can say for Pamela is she sure knows how to stir things up with the fire and spunk alive in her.
