BiographyIf you were an adolescent or above it in the 1990s, then there is a high chance of you recognizing Lindsay Lohan, today’s star diva as the cutie kid of 90s. Lohan is an American actress and pop singer who have been around the entertainment world since she was three years old. She has appeared in numerous advertisements and commercials before she began as a child actress with Disney’s The Parent Trap. As an adult she has done leading roles in some of the very hugely successful movies like Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded. Her music career kick started in 2004 when she came out with her first album, Speak (2004) followed by a second album, A Little More Personal (Raw) (2005). She has been in the news recently owing to her controversial lifestyle and addiction to drugs and involvement in an accident case.
Lindsay Dee Lohan was born on July 2, 1986 in The Bronx and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island in New York. She is the eldest child of Michael Douglas Lohan Sr., a onetime actor, and former Rockette Donata "Dina" Sullivan and has two younger brothers, Michael Jr., Dakota and a younger sister, Aliana all of whom are aspiring actors. She is of Irish and Italian descent and had a catholic upbringing.
Lohan attended Sanford H. Calhoun High School and later finished her studies at home through Laurel Springs School of Ojai, California. Her family was financially very sound. Lindsay’s parents separated in 2005 and got divorced in 2007.
Career in Movies
Lohan started her career as a child model appearing first time in the Ford Models ad and following it up with over 100 commercials for Toys "R" Us, modeling assignments for Calvin Klein Kids, Abercrombie Kids, and Duncan Hines including a Jell-O gelatin spot with Bill Cosby. She starred in the 1996 television show, Another World where she essayed the role of Alexandra "Alli" Fowler. One year, later, however, Lindsay left the show for the lead role as twins in the remake movie, The Parent Trap. The movie was well received by everyone and her work became the star attraction of the movie.
She was then signed on by Disney for a three-film contract. Then came out two original television movies, Life-Size (2000) (with Tyra Banks) and Get a Clue (2002). Her major commercial success stared her right in the face was a lead role in another Disney remake: Freaky Friday (2003), starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
In 2004, Lohan was given the lead in two films, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (her first feature that was not a remake) and Paramount's Mean Girls. Although the former one was also a moderate success, the latter movie made Lohan the icon she is today. The film became a major blockbuster and suddenly the whole world was interested to know more about this new famous glam girl. Tabloids were splashed with personal information and facts about her and she entered the big league of actors of Hollywood.
In 2005, Lohan became the first living person to have a "My Scene Goes Hollywood" doll released by Mattel. She also voiced herself in the direct-to-DVD feature film based on the dolls. The same year she worked in another Disney movie, Herbie: Fully Loaded, the fifth film in the long-dormant Herbie series.
2006 saw the release of Lohan’s three movies ,the much publicized but box office failure, Just My Luck, A Prairie Home Companion which earned her rave reviews and the independent Emilio Estevez film, Bobby, opposite Elijah Wood. The latter one was released in 2006 and was also screened at the Venice Film Festival.
Year 2007 proved to be not a good one for Lindsay with few releases and more drop outs due to her tryst with drugs, rehabs and car accidents ultimately leading to police arrest. A Woman of No Importance and Poor Things. That year her three movies opened up to mixed or poor reactions being Chapter 27, Georgia Rule and I Know Who Killed Me.
2004 also saw Lohan branch out into the world of pop music with the album Speak; the supposedly confessional -- and similarly undistinguished -- A Little More Personal followed in 2005 including hit singles like "Rumors" from the first album also nominated for the Best Pop Video at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards and "Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)" from the second album. Lindsay later revealed in 2007 about her plans of taking out a third album soon. She has also sung in few of her movies including Freaky Friday, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen etc.
Lohan has been paparazzi’s favorite child with her remaining in controversies and scandals more than often. She had been so far involved in three car accidents. The recent one was on May 26, 2007 where she lost control of her Mercedes-Benz convertible and struck a curb. Lohan was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
She also admitted herself in rehab centre three times that year to correct her fixation for alcohol and drugs. On August 23, 2007, it was announced that Lohan would serve one day in jail and 10 days community service for both her DUI arrests. She will also be on probation for a maximum of 3 years. Lohan was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol education program, pay hundreds of dollars in fines and must complete a three-day county coroner program in which she’ll visit a morgue and talk to victims of drunken drivers.
Currently, Lindsay is trying to sort her through her messed up life and planning to complete her studies in Europe away from America. It’s high time she did something about that career of hers which dropped with the same speed as it shot upwards.

Living Lohan, which was commissioned by the US channel E!, follows Lindsay's mother, Dina, as she manages her younger daughter, Ali, who is trying to become a star.
Denise Richards: It's Complicated, made by American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest's self-titled production company, follows the former wife of Charlie Sheen as she "navigates Hollywood, romance and motherhood following a tumultuous year in the tabloid headlines".
Richards, a former Bond girl, will be seen "picking up the pieces of her life in the wake of a bitter public divorce from Charlie Sheen and the recent death of her mother".
Living Lohan launches on Fiver, previously called Five Life, on June 19 while Denise Richards: It's Complicated will air later in the year.
